November has been very good to us so far. John finished school on Tuesday (his class, not degree) AND I began my practicum at a (somewhat) nearby hospital. This is really quite nice for a couple of reasons. 1) It means my classroom classes are over. 2) I get some high quality, fast paced hospital experience. At our university, we can request placement and I got placed in the emergency room which is what I had hoped for. I also asked for a specific hospital which I very much believe in as I have seen how lovely it is. The staff all seem happy, on the same page, they work in teams and they all seem to love teaching. Not bad. I say "seem" because, you know it just the vibes I get in my limited time spent there. I am on night shift which I also like. Early mornings freak me out for some reason. I'd rather do the graveyard shift. Besides, the more interesting things seem to happen at night.
First time in the grocery cart!
It is so freeing to be out of the classroom. I mean it is stressful at times being more or less in the real world but hey, this is what it's going to be. Might as well get cozy and comfortable with it.
The third perk is spending more time with Ellie during the day. Yesterday we went to the lake beside our house and enjoyed some sun. Little Ellie is battling a cold, but she still loves being outside so out we go. I also go a little crazy if I don't get out at some point. It was soooo warm here yesterday. On this occasion, Ellie got to try her first animal cracker. It was so dang cute! She ate it like a big girl. Drool and all. She has 4 top teeth coming in so enjoy it she did.
