Lately...

Hello, hello. Half way into January and I'm back. January has been going by so fast and so slow all in the same. I'll explain in a moment.

This post I have entitled "lately" as many bloggers compose these posts based on their life at the moment or "lately". Sort of self-explanatory. Anyway, here is mine as I believe it is the best way to play catch-up.

Bedroom shoe buddies

1) The biggest one on my mind is passing the NCLEX exam.  What a weight off. I went to Asheville very early Friday morning to take it and was sure I had bombed it. Yes. I said to myself, it pass this, it will be by the mercy of God. It's not that I feel like I'm an incompetent nurse, rather the test was hard, random and fear-inducing. I can't say much more (sworn to secrecy :) but it was a nerve racking couple of days. SO now I am an RN and can work...right. This reminds me of #2.

In Asheville the week before my test. Yes. Fancy bathroom pictures

2) Work. Now I am definitely ready for work. I was before and certainly now that I have a green light. I enjoy being at home with Ellie, but I am NOT meant to be a stay-at-home-mom. I like a schedule, making money and hopefully putting this degree to good use. So yeah. The job hunt is definitely on. I did start volunteering at a free medical clinic which is good. I just need a paying job too ; )

3) Ellie. Well Ellie is about to be a new one year old. One more month or so and yes! We'll officially have a toddler. There will be whole post to this I'm sure so I'll say for now what Ellie is up to doing: Not crawling but everything but the actual crawling motion (she'll get on her hands and knees and we will be believe she is going for sure! but then... plop. right. back. down.  She is standing,  pulling up to her knees, grabbing everything, eating most things, laughing, "dancing" (bouncing her head up and down) and babbling sooo much.  She talks all the time! Points and says gibberish. Pretty funny actually. Ellie is now eating pretty much what we do. I puree some foods but mostly she likes to pick up bits and eat it. She stopped breastfeeding at about 8 months (my supply was dropping due to not being able to pump like I needed to- working moms I have a new found respect for your efforts! Long lectures and clinicals do not ideal pumping situations make.) Ellie takes formula fine but I had to get over myself to give it to her. I was really hoping to breastfeed a year but...we did OK to go as we did.

We are taking daily wagon/stroller rides as weather permits. Ellie LOVES to be outside.

Baby cousins hanging out at Jo Jo's.

Just sayin'. Adorable baby makes adorable mess.

4) John. John is workin, workin as he does. Things are very busy for finance people at the beginning of the year for businesses apparently. What do I know. Nothing about business or finance for sure. He also started his spring research class (cue barf- we both hate research) and is of course doing just fine. As much as he gripes, he is an excellent student. Very disciplined and very, very smart. He should finish in August. 2 more classes! Holler!

I guess that's it for now. I'm planning on a short post on "baby-proofing" (i.e. changing Ellie's room to be more toddler/older baby friendly) and other such stuff.

I hope you all are doing well out there!

Byeeee!
