Last Saturday we did something Ellie (I) have been wanting to do. We went to the Greenville Zoo! (Spoiler alert-the title). Lie most kids, ellie loves animals so it was kind of a no brainer. John and I had been there either the spring after we got married or the spring before we got married but regardless it had been a while. It's a small zoo but it's very cute and enough animals to be pretty interesting. There are plenty of monkey varieties? species? There are giraffes, lions, birds and farm animals. Ellie was great just hanging out in her stroller except for the times we were pulling her out of the stroller to see ALL animals. We were just as excited for her to see them. It was stinkin hot out but that's summer. Oh and bonus to going last weekend was...free ice cream!!! Oh they had me.
Funny side note, as we were walking up, there was this shaved ice truck parked at the entrance and it was playing "under the sea" from The Little Mermaid but it was only steel drums playing it. It just made me so excited to go in and I just had that moment of remembering how excited you could get about things as a kid. I don't know, it was just a giddy little flashback moment. It's the little things people.

Guess who can say ice cream now?

See if you can spot the lazy lion in the background? Speaking of lazy animals, they were feeling the heat because they were all laid out barely moving. Even the chickens were trying to dig holes to sit in in the sand.
So out of all the exotic animals we saw, do you know Ellie's favorite? The ducks. She says "kack-kack!" (quack-quack). Pretty cute.
