2 weekends. Part 1 of 2

It's been a while, my apologizes. It is my intention to write once a week but I get lazy sometimes.

Anyhow...the weekend before last was of course Memorial weekend and we stayed around home. Friday we stayed in and cooked, ya know just kind of simple and un eventful in a good way. Saturday we had a lazy morning and John had intentions of cutting the grass which is his most favorite chore (severe sarcasm). I started to get serious cabin fever as the day went on and started dreaming about what everyone else was probably doing... Never a good idea. After John finished the grass I told him we were going sommmme where! They were hosting freedom aloft somewhat close by (which for those of you not living in SC it is a big hot air balloon festival with concerts, food, rides, etc). But last year we went and saw the balloons going up (which was awesome!) but it was really expensive if you weren't going to the concerts and this year? Concerts + baby+ late night+ drunk college students not giving a bleep about what's happening around them= no thanks, I'll pass. Soooo we went to a park in good ole TR to listen to blues music and had really good (pretty cheap!) hamburgers. We saw some church friends there so it was a good time.

Last year at freedom aloft... Keeping it classy with the drinks I know...

This year...right before we high tailed it outta there cause miss Ellie was done and wanting her bed!
I wouldn't change a thing this year. It was a quicker trip out but hey, after I'm done eating, it's only a matter of time before I'm ready too! Not to mention, look at my sweet arm candy! (and john too :)

Sunday we had tickets to a local minor league baseball game which has a beautiful field / stadium whichever. Really! This was my first trip and I was impressed. The weather apparently was not impressed because after an hour or so of giving the dark clouds raised eyebrows and wondering... It delivered. Not bad at first because we split before we could see how nasty it could get. Since Ellie was safely and happily with her grandparents, John and I took the opportunity to eat some sushi downtown at a place where we wouldn't normally take her. Glad we did because about .02 seconds after say down the bottom feel out from the sky. Score one for us

The mascot... Froggy?

Running in a moderate rain
 Excellent picture, don't you agree?

Monday... Ah yes! I remember. After we picked up Ellie and we got about 20 ft from johns parents house, the robots took our car over. Power steering suddenly was out. Traction control also out. The car was searching (itself??) for a problem it said and then we were talking to someone through the car audio about what was happening. Could be a longer story shorter, john Heman- strength turned the car around and we took his dad's van home. Soooo on Monday John went to his parents to wait on the tow truck, sat at the dealership and brought home a loaner car. What the freak? This car is not even really a year old??? We bought it for safety ( and more room) when Ellie was on the way so we were all dissapointed here. Funny thing though, even the car craped out the customer service care made me feel safe (again). They called us ASAP and called the tow truck AND constantly checked with John about what was happening. After all that we had a nice cookout at his parents house that night.

Just for fun...Ellie after church. Her headband turned her into a unicorn whilst napping on the way home.
