Get it ALL Done

Since I am a women of schedule, order and overall control, I have found the relatively new need for creating a pseudo schedule to make sure it (enter blog title) ALL gets done. and if not? At least I tried.

So it's not new news that this nursing position is my first job whilst also being a momma. Now, since becoming a mom and a newly reminted career woman, I have the well intentioned idea of being sure I'm covering several bases of life most days. For example: intentional exercise (see previous post to see how I feel about THAT), well prepared food for us all, house chores, being mom, wife, work prep, dog owner responsibilities. This is just being a normal, working human but since I have a weird interest in other's day to day, I'd thought I'd share ours. For right now when I work (7AM-7:30 PM)

4:30  I get up if all goes well (i.e. I don't silence my alarm) and drink coffee/green tea while reading other blogs to wake up bc I'm NOT a morning person. Just ask my parents...I never was.
5:10 start preparing supper. Chop vegetables, put meat in crockpot, prepare oven dish for John to cook...whatevs. Put mine and Ellie's food in our lunch bags and set them put to be picked up.
5:40 Let the dogs out.
5:50 Get dressed, wash up, make-up, etc.
6:10 Scramble to decide whether I have time to take the dogs out for a quick walk. The past two work mornings have been a NO.
6:15-6:20 leave for work.
When I get home: (widely varies thus far) I change clothes (eeK! hospital germs) eat, help with Ellie's bedtime routine, shower myself and try to stay awake for whatever else but I'm down by 10:30.

Where I need to improve in all this: Make sure I have 10 minutes to take the dogs for a quick walk and actually eat the breakfast I have prepared ahead of time. I have to keep in mind, this will all flip in about 3 weeks when I go to night shift. I think it will be better then. I can exercise before work as the Y is literally 5 minutes from my work and I don't sleep late during day sleep so eating "breakfast" won't be an issue. John will have it a little tougher but he can work out on my off days and i'll still have dinner prepped or ready when he gets home. Sweet Ellie hopefully will go with the flow like she usually does :)

Days off: There is no schedule but goals rather and they include: exercise (running at the ole YMCA, and/or yoga video), dog walk, house chores and something special with Ellie (library time or the park usually). I also MUST prepare mine and Ellie's food the night before and cook/bake early if I need to do so. For some reason that is time consuming and can't happen in the morning.

All eyes at the library

Also, each month I want to make sure I'm paying some service to the community in a project of volunteerism. I don't say this to sound boastful by any means, but rather to hold myself accountable. My thoughts and shortfalls on volunteerism is a whole post in itself. we 'll see if I get to it...but seriously, we have to help each other.

On another note there is exciting news to share in the family, but I don't know if I can spill it yet, so I won't! (No, I'm not pregnant). And in case you're wondering, Ellie is flourishing as a "toddler". (she still looks like a baby) She isn't walking on her own but holds onto our hands when she walks. She is so cautious and whines and whimpers if you try to make her walk with one hand or alone. She babbles and talks so much which is hilarious to listen to! She LOVES LOVES her books and to read. She also enjoys having one trinket in each hand most times. She hates getting dressed and having her diaper changed. She continues to eat soooo well (and so much!) I don't know here she puts it all because she is so petite but man the child can eat! The only things she spits out is: meat (depends on texture), green beans (fresh or frozen) and squash/zucchini. She especially loves cheese, avocados, carrots, raisins and all types of fruit known to man. I'm going to enjoy this as long as I can...I say this as she gets older but this is my favorite stage! It just gets better and better.

Hopefully a new post will be up on Wednesday! I'm trying to designate it as blog night after Ellie starts her slumber, so we'll see!
