Christmas 2015

Another Christmas season has mostly passed and I have to say this was one of the best yet. Somewhere in between taking a last minute trip to NC, buying our dream home, my parents making a quick decision to come here for Christmas day, Christmas Eve service (we missed a lot of Sunday's this month for reasons), somewhat sentimental last Christmas at our first home, etc. it was just a very special one. We are so so thankful for such great family with whom we can spend Christmas. It's hard to believe Christmas was less than week ago since this week has been so..."come on, let's go" as my mother would say. Work has been quite steady and John and I have been working hard to get as much moved as possible before Saturday. We've also been on a mission to scrub clean the new house to have a blank slate to work with.

Because of the moving of random items here and there, I'm typing this post on my phone since my computer is at the new place. For that reason the writing will be short and pictures plentiful!

This sweet face of determination trying to hang her Elmo ornament by herself

Christmas Eve service. We kept Ellie with us so she could sing and hold a "candle". We also had to scoot out a lot for a little lady who talks. All. The. Time.

Ahh yes. Reality sinking in about putting together ellies kitchen from Santa. Not pictured: a thousand tiny hardware pieces.

Christmas with the Hughes family! My parents got these pictures for us. My mom and dad had arrived just an hour or so previously. We had a wonderful "breakfast for dinner" here together before tearing into presents. The Christmas dishes my mother in law had laid out had me wanting some for our own  home!

Christmas Morning! My dad filmed Ellie walking (being carried) down the hall to see if Santa came! Just like old times when my brother and I had to spend eternity behind the dreaded closed hall door to set up the Goliath video camera on tripod so as not to miss a moment of Christmas being filmed! Always quite the anticipation building for opening the door to see what Santa brought! My parents, I mean Santa, never disappointed!

Santa brought Ellie a kitchen (duh), play food, Thomas the train set and Daniel Tiger figurines. She seemed happy and got SO many other kind gifts that we, I mean Santa, didn't have to go overboard.

After Santa and breakfast we went to jo Jo's house for lunch like we do and visited with some more family. My parents stayed at the house and relaxed a bit.

And one more for Christmas Night with the tree. My parents left very early the next morning and I headed to work. John and Ellie had a full day of moving!

Hope you had a Merry Christmas and we wish you a happy New Year! I hope to be back soon with a post about our new living quarters (we move officially on Saturday) and another "Fun in Greenville" post. Nighty night!
